The official list of ratings for the wines of the Saint-Emilion appellation, led by the French National Appellation of Origin, was officially released in 1955.
This classification divides châteaux into Premier Grand Cru Classe and Grand Cru Classe, which in turn is divided into Premier Grand Cru Classe A and Premier Grand Cru Classe B. The classification system is updated approximately every ten years, and in the latest Saint-Emilion classification, published in 2012, a total of 82 châteaux were selected, including 64 Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, 14 Saint-Emilion Grand Cru B, and 4 Saint-Emilion Grand Cru A. The first class A wineries are Chateau Ausone, Chateau Cheval Blanc, Chateau Angelus and Chateau Pavie. It is worth noting that 2022 will be the time when a new round of ratings will come out, in line with the tradition of the Saint-Emilion classification being adjusted approximately every 10 years.Warm reminder: Stay tuned to the LuFuture.com app for the latest market updates.
