When we drink wine, do we notice that sometimes the words “Mis en bouteille au Chateau” or “Estate Bottled” appear on the label? This is the French and English label for “bottled at the original winery”.
In France, for example, a wine with this label means that the winery is in control of all aspects of the winemaking process, including bottling, and that the quality of the wine is guaranteed. As the winemaking and bottling equipment is very expensive, this symbol can be interpreted as “we are well funded and strong”.It is important to note that this small label is not the only way to judge the quality of a wine, and that some wines from well-known wineries are not necessarily worse than those bottled in the “original winery”.
